Cookie Policy
Last updated: 22 September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how F&P Plumbing & Heating Ltd (“F&P”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar browser technologies on our boiler-cover website.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small files stored on your device by websites.
We may also use similar browser technologies such as local storage and advertising pixels.
Some technologies are necessary for the website to work. We also use a separate privacy-preserving statistical measurement to produce aggregate information about use of this website so we can improve it. Detailed analytics and advertising technologies remain optional and require the relevant consent.
2. Categories We Use
Necessary
Necessary technologies support functions required to operate the website and services. These may include:
- security;
- authentication;
- remembering essential application state;
- the cover-application and checkout journey;
- payment and subscription functionality;
- remembering your cookie-consent choice;
- appropriate first-party functionality required for the website to operate.
Necessary technologies cannot be disabled through our optional-cookie controls where they are genuinely required to provide the service you request.
Anonymous website statistics
We use a separate first-party measurement to count aggregate website usage such as total sessions and page views for the sole purpose of understanding and improving this website. It does not send a visitor ID, advertising ID, campaign/ad identifier, IP address or user-agent value into our reporting dataset, and we do not use it to build individual visitor profiles or for advertising measurement.
This measurement is on by default under the statistical-purposes exception in UK electronic-communications law. You can object free of charge at any time by opening Cookie settings and switching off Anonymous website statistics. Once you object, future aggregate measurement from your browser stops.
Detailed analytics
Where you grant analytics consent, analytics technologies help us understand how visitors use the website and how the website performs.
We currently use Google Analytics 4, managed through Google Tag Manager.
Information may include matters such as:
- pages viewed;
- website interactions;
- session information;
- device/browser information;
- approximate geographic information.
Analytics technologies are optional.
Marketing
Where you grant marketing consent, advertising technologies may be used to measure advertising performance and help attribute website conversions to advertising.
We currently use the Meta Pixel for advertising on Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
The Meta Pixel may use browser identifiers such as _fbp and _fbc.
Marketing technologies are optional.
3. First-Party Local Storage
Our website also uses first-party local storage for functions such as:
Cover journey state
This can remember selections and progress while you move through the cover journey.
Anonymous visitor/session measurement
Our first-party analytics and attribution system may use random visitor and session identifiers so that we can understand website journeys and marketing attribution.
These identifiers are not created from your name or email address.
Cookie-consent choice
We store your consent choice so that we can remember your preferences.
Discount-offer suppression
We may remember whether you dismissed or submitted the discount-offer popup so that we do not repeatedly show the same offer.
Other necessary application state
We may store limited information required to maintain account, security or application functionality.
4. Google Tag Manager and Consent Mode
We use Google Tag Manager to manage analytics and advertising tags on the website.
Our consent system communicates your choices to Google Consent Mode v2.
Optional analytics or marketing tags are not permitted by our implementation to operate unless the relevant consent has been granted.
Current consent categories include:
- analytics storage;
- advertising storage;
- advertising user data;
- advertising personalisation.
You can change your choices later through Cookie Settings.
5. Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 is used only where the relevant analytics consent has been granted.
It helps us understand website usage and performance.
We do not intentionally send customers’ raw email addresses, telephone numbers or payment-card information to Google Analytics.
6. Meta Pixel and Browser Identifiers
Where marketing consent has been granted, the Meta Pixel may operate through Google Tag Manager.
It may use identifiers such as _fbp and _fbc to help measure whether advertising contributed to website activity or a conversion.
The Meta Pixel is not permitted by our implementation to operate where the relevant marketing consent has not been granted.
Server-side advertising measurement is explained separately in our Privacy Policy because it does not necessarily rely on a browser cookie.
7. Managing Your Preferences
When you first visit the website, our cookie-consent interface allows you to:
- accept optional technologies;
- reject non-essential technologies; or
- manage detailed analytics and marketing preferences; and
- object to anonymous aggregate website statistics.
Your choice is remembered on your device.
You can change your preferences at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer.
Withdrawing consent prevents future optional tracking under the withdrawn category through our implementation.
Where technically appropriate, our consent system may also remove optional cookies or local-storage items created by our own implementation.
Necessary information required for authentication, security, checkout or other requested functionality will not be removed merely because optional consent is withdrawn.
8. Browser Controls
Your browser may also allow you to view, delete or block cookies.
Blocking all browser storage may affect necessary website functionality.
9. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if our technology, service providers or legal obligations change.
The latest version will be published on this page with the “Last updated” date shown above.
